Team Jobstation Project Collapses, Morten Eide Pedersen Losing His 2d Team Within Few Months

Morten Eide Pedersen does not deserve this misfortune. First Team BN Bank closes down in spring - and its 32 year old leader forced to search for a new team for the upcoming season... ...That finds itself in a shape of an ambitious continental entrant: Team Jobstation. The new French outfit talks big, signs -apart from Pedersen - Jean Marc Gaiilard , Masako Ishida and even Dario Cologna as a sort of a cameo appearance star.... Ten days ago, with considerably less fanfare, it is announced that a title sponsor has pulled the plug at the last moment, Team Jobstation is no more and there is an urgent need of a new sponsor willing & able to provide some 250.000 euros needed for the next season. Highly unlikely, alas. So,…

Normally, in discussion conclusions follow arguments. Well, we want to up-end that and to start with conclusion: world's cross country skiing really has two options: Learn how Norwegians do things and effort to replicate them at home. Or just move all the top-level competitions to Norway, period. Yes, the way the Ironman World Championship is held in Hawaii - and nobody seems to have a problem with that because "Hawaii does it best" The Norwegians have honed the art of staging cross country skiing races to such extent that , putting it bluntly, races elsewhere are starting to look pale in comparison. Especially in the summer. Conversely, premier summer races in Norway are even better than their winter ones ( hint - it's warmer and doesn't get dark before lunchtime!)…

Is It Worth Continue Having Identical Gear In Rollerski Races?

...the video looks like the stuff of rollerskier's nightmares: first a wheel disintergrates on speed , then an athlete loses control, careens and ,finally, falls hard in the ditch, taking another skier with her. https://www.instagram.com/p/B1g4nCCIqDo/?igshid=1uqytt96lm96u It does not help from a PR perspective that skiers are called Frida Karlsson and Nora Ulvang, respectively. An hour later ( and off cameras as far we know) Alexander Bolshunov' s rollerskis suffer similar sudden destruction, with a Russian " doing a total overhead flip" in his own words on rhe speed of almost 60km/h Miraculously, there seems to be no serious damage. Except, perhaps, to reputation of a rollerski producer that was supplying skis to all athletes in the race. There is no gloating from competitors. "I feel sorry for them. It's a…

Ingvild Flugstad Østberg is more than a skier. With her polite manners and seemingly ever-present smile she's a symbol of all the positive cross country skiing brings to life. Yet smiling young woman turns into a ferocious fighter once she's on skis, be it sprint or long distance race. It's only too right , somehow that Ms. Østberg is a reigning World Cup holder and, by extension, a prime ambassador of the ancient sport to masses, skiing or otherwise. But that's not it. Can you think of any other active skier who took time to work on ski-related product and turn it into one of the world's best? Ingvild did. When you see both amateurs and pros alike doing miles on IDT's Invgvild Østberg Edition rollerskis - remember, it's not…

Two years after Jostein Vinjerui and Hans Kristian Stadheim took helm of the British Nordic Ski Team's senior squad it is evident that the things are going in the right direction. Andrew Young and Jimmy Clugnet are now firmly among the world's elite in sprint while Andrew Musgrave is a real man to watch in the upcoming season, his double victory at Blink be the witness ( just in case somebody forgot - Alex Bolshunov was the guy to win 60K C at Blink the previous year) [caption id="attachment_12545" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Andrew Musgrave [/caption] [caption id="attachment_12544" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Andrew Young[/caption] [caption id="attachment_12553" align="alignnone" width="1920"] James Clugnet finishing 2d at Blink Sprint[/caption] This is not an attempt of analysis of the trio's performance in the hands of their Norwegian coaches -…
