Interviews with Yelena Vyalbe, legendary skier, boss of the Russian snowsports and newly-minted member of the FIS (governing) Council are but a sheer bliss for any journalist. Calling spade's spade is one of her specialties. Here's Part 1 : "..I'm opposed to emphasizing that I'm " the first female in FIS Council" and generally against dividing people based on their gender at work. Professionalism and enthusiasm for the job should matter, not gender or any other factors. FIS has a range of big issues it needs to handle and tackle . Russians And Italians Train Under German Coach In Estonia

Russian and Italian skiers train under German coach - in Estonia. We-guess that's what it takes to beat Norwegians in 2021: pulling together forces in a joint effort. Markus Cramer Group led by Sergey Ustiugov and Yulia Belorukova and " reinforced " by Federico Pellegrino and Francesco De Fabiani just have landed in Otepää, Estonia for a long training camp. "Otepää is a fantastic place for summer training, it has everything: good lodgings, well-equipped gym, playground for team sports- most importantly, it has long safe roads with the right uphill/ downhill difficulty. Plus the weather is fantastic- except for mosquitoes but skiers don't feel them, only coaches do.." says Cramer. Worth noting that the mixed dream-team is using IDT rollerskis, provided by their sponsor - that happen to be Norwegian.

Teresa Stadlober Might Join Team Russia

No need to worry - the best Austrian skier has no known intentions to switch her citizenship. It has become known , however, ( via Yulia Belorukova) that Teresa Stadlober will join Markus Cramer's group in training in the spring and the summer of 2021. Along with Pellegrino and De Fabiani as previously reported. It starts looking like " the world vs Norway". Well, after Oberstdorf-2021 that basically looked like the Norwegian Championships with Bolshunov invited as a solo foreign star, it only makes sense to try something new & drastic in the Olympic season.

Max Volkov Will Coach Chinese Skiers

Max Volkov, ex-assistant coach of Yuri Borodavko at Team Russia, will coach the Chinese national team. Volkov is well known in the international skiing circles - not the least as a " Voice of Bolshunov " as he was often seen helping media to interpret for the Russian great ( who consistently refuses to learn English). Volkov will have to undergo the planet's most stringent quarantine before joining his new team in May. He will join there Nikita Kryukov, the Olympic champion of Vancouver , who is a trainer of the Chinese sprinters.
