- When we say "they are here" we mean that the first pairs left a production facility and ended up on the feet of the very few selected athletes sponsored by Salomon who are competing in the World Cup. - Predictably, Salomon is not yet giving away much information about the new boots, neither technical nor price/availability. Some bits we were able to glean - and are happy to share here with you: - Salomon is officially supporting Pilot system for another few years, but with Jessie Diggins switching to Prolink this season, there are no Pilot-athletes left at the World Cup level. SVT, Swedish national television simply stated that doctors found her " unfit to compete". Frida is a second uber-elite skier to stop competing this season after Ingvild Oestberg was sidelined with very similar and super-vague explanation: health is not good enough to compete. Nope, it was Vebjoern Turtveit who has totally stole the show with his choice of ergh...racing apparel. Moreover, we hereby postulate that wearing something like that in a mass start is nothing but a page from psychological ops or PSYOPs ! Surely no skier who follows a mighty 25 year old Norwegian on uphill could think of anything else but those, you know palms or whatever else is pictured. Or just laugh hysterically. Learn from the best, kids: Turtviet came strong 12th in the race that featured the world best. They probably did not see.
