Max Volkov Will Coach Chinese Skiers

Max Volkov, ex-assistant coach of Yuri Borodavko at Team Russia, will coach the Chinese national team. Volkov is well known in the international skiing circles - not the least as a " Voice of Bolshunov " as he was often seen helping media to interpret for the Russian great ( who consistently refuses to learn English). Volkov will have to undergo the planet's most stringent quarantine before joining his new team in May. He will join there Nikita Kryukov, the Olympic champion of Vancouver , who is a trainer of the Chinese sprinters.

It was Sergey Ustiugov 's last chance to jump on a wagon, departing for Oberstdorf 2021 - and he used it with his customary flair. The world's best skier of 2016/17 had an exceptionally rough season thus far: bad case of Covid hit him in October in altitude camp in Italy and, unlike many other skiers, the Russian Bear wasn't lucky enough to recover quickly. As the result, zero international races this season while the competition within Team Russia grew tremendously. ..it’s not the first time you see the name of Patricija Eiduka mentioned on Dailyskier.com: we've been following the progress of the Latvian skier for some time now. Progress? It's a leap forward! The last weekend a 20 year old caused quite a sensation finishing at first 18th in Sprint - then 8th in 10k F on Sunday. Just a few seconds behind Jessie Diggins and outpacing too many really strong athletes to count! Norwegian ski association won't send its teams for the races in the next few weeks. That means that the FIS World Cup races in Davos , Dresden and the entire Tour de Ski shall take place without the strongest team participating.
