Which amounts to 9500 training kilometers total. The breakdown is as follows: - Skiing on snow : 2140 classic, 2390 freestyle for 4530 kilometers total. - Roller skiing total: 2,174 kilometers. Of which 1147 was classic, 1027 freestyle. - Running: 2084 km. - Cycling: 684 km. Altitude gain, total: 151200 meters Finally, she burned 509,000 kilocalories last season in training. In 14 years of its existence, Blink Festivalen in Western Norway has grown from a decidely local affair to one of those world's premier competitions in both xcskiing and biathlon, offering an absolutely unique blend of top stars presence and amateur, mostly kids, competitions at the same tracks. Italy's borders will stay closed to foreign visitors until the end of the year. That's from Dario Franceschini, the country's minister of culture and tourism, in an interview with La Repubblica. UPDATE: So, now Italian government officials emphatically DENY that the country would be closed to foreign visitors till the end of 2020. Good to know! However, since no other timeframe for re-opening of the country to external tourism was provided, not even tentatively, we won't withdraw the original story until we hear something more concrete. Martin Sundby Did Not Make Norway Squad Selection

For the first time in 13 years Martin Johnsrud Sundby did not make the cut and is left outside the Team Norway squad, according to NRK. That despite Johannes Klaebo going back to the Sprint group from the Distance one - the total number of male skiers in the national team is being cut from 15 to 12. Sundby, the reigning world champion on 15k, did not have a single World Cup podium last year. There is a little doubt though that the 35 year from Oslo Holmenkollen would be able to pay for his Oberstdorf-2021 preparations out of pocket, should he choose to do so: his latest tax declaration indicates an income of of some NOK 7.8 million for 2018.
