By now everybody sure knows that the skis they run & won ( or not) on are not the same they are standing at the podium with. Hence the name: "podium skis". We feel it is our sacred duty to keep you abreast with latest fashion trends in cross country skiing. Let us leave you in no doubt whatsoever: overboots are all the rage on Alpine resorts frequented by the world's top skiers this time of the year. Most photos were taken at/around the recent FIS World Cup event in Davos where it was circa minus 12 Celsius. Looking through pictures it became obvious that while men seems to shunning them overboots, ladies embraces them readily. A case in point: Another thing you will notice looking at the pictures: Alpina, Fischer and Rossignol boot owners opt for overboots while Salomon, Atomic and Madshus athletes don't use them in these conditions ( and, therefore, are not shown). ...in sprint finale at the first stage of the FIS World Cup in Ruka Alexander Bolshunov has shown to the whole skiing world that grit pays off. When Johannes Klaebo, thinking he has un assailable lead, has slowed down to look around, Bolshunov kept on working - and won. The first race of the season has proven that the commentators have been all correct so far: two 22 year olds ( Bolshunov is still , technically 21) , the Norwegian and the Russian, are in the league of their own and will dominate the upcoming season.
