Rarest Of Races: Skiathlon. Why Is It Only Once A Year And What Happens Day Before

The skiathlon is, probably, the most challenging ski race of them all. Challenging for the athletes who have to run switching style halfway. Challenging for the organizers who have to prepare two separate courses (same true about relays. In theory anyone could have it but in practice only the biggest, the most established ski stadiums like famed Birkiebeiner in Lillehammer are willing & able to. Perhaps, the most challenging the skiathlon is for the teams'ski technicians who have double the load preparing for the races. Today we'll show unsung heroes of pro-skiing. At work. Skitsnack Or Making News Out Of Nothing At All

Newsfeed, Trivia
Today we tell you how to cover the ski-related news in 2019. Or, better said, to make the news. And we do it backwards. This week literally every single Russian newspaper and internet resource went with their version of the story that had pretty much same screaming headline: Swedish female skiers made fun of mass pregnant Russian rivals! /Шведские лыжницы высмеяли массово забеременевших российских соперниц. Separately, FIS states that in out-of-competition period in April-November 2019 it conducted 1612 tests of which more than half, 824 to be precise were aimed at cross country skiers with Alpine skiers, jumpers, Nordic combines and snowboarders being another roughly half. Once again: the word "star" in our parlance does not just mean "the one who wins". Rather, it's the one who shines both on and off the tracks. Luckily for the sport, it's one and the same currently. Or, more accurately, two and the same since we have two amazing athletes who will surely take their fight for the title of the world's best skier to the new level [caption id="attachment_13797" align="alignnone" width="1920"] triple Olympic, triple World champion, the winner of the Crystal Globe of the last two season at the age of 23. What else could one desire for? Third one, we guess. He just can't bear losing[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13794" align="alignnone" width="1920"] Johannes Klaebo is once-in-generation athlete who rarely leaves his competitors any chance in sprints. Distance? He trained…
